Honor The Journey - A Running Journal Running Tips

My Favorite Running Songs

favorite running songs

My favorite running songs isn’t an easy thing to compress.  Everyone is hitting up their Spotify to find out what their most listened to music of the decade is.  I don’t use Spotify, but I did run through my playlists and my Pandora to see what it seemed like I listen to the most, or at the very least what I like running to the most.  For my long distance training I’m not a fan of tempo that’s too fast or anything full of lyrics so over the years I’ve developed an even bigger affinity for electronic music and it has become my guide through long runs and last year marathon training.  Shorter runs, that I can push my pace and heart rate I lean towards heavy metal or funk depending on my mood. Here are some of my favorite running songs.

The music you listen to while running is important.  It directly impacts your mood, your pace, and your focus.  It was years before I started running with music and took several years to find what worked for me and what didn’t.  I was inspired to listen to styles of music I hadn’t listened to in years and appreciate songs that I really hadn’t before.  Music has always been a muse of my life and it was only natural it became such an important piece of my running life as well.
