Hi! My name is Heather and I’m a thirty something mother of three dragons. Don’t worry, I’m not the infamous one who smothered her Khal and burned down a city in rage and whatnot. I’m not even requesting anyone to bend the knee. I mean, unless you want to. I’m okay with that.
For as long as I can remember I’ve had an affection for reading, writing, gaming and a relatively unhealthy obsession with movies. On the flip side I’ve always been a tomboy too. If it was outside and involved getting dirty or playing a sport of some kind I wanted to be a part of it. But much to my mother’s chagrin, usually in a pretty dress I was doomed to destroy.
As a female child of the 80’s that kind of nerdy and athletic playground still had a lot of growing to do for the inclusiveness of the female sex, but that never deterred me.
For the last twenty years I’ve ran successful movie blogs, co-hosted a podcast called the MILFcast (aka The Man, I Love Films Podcast), was regularly one of the only females shooting things up on multi-player video games, writing science fiction/fantasy novels, and started running marathons in my early 30’s, because the world isn’t going to open doors for you. It’s up to you to knock them down and do your thing.
I’m coming to the end of my 30’s and am heavy into my running life, but I find myself missing the creative outlet to talk about stuff that I love. FB groups are a great discussion forum (I have links to several badass ones I belong to here), but I need my own den, my own Haven to write about….stuff. I figured why not start my own blog?
So this is going to be a hodgepodge of my stuff. I’m breaking the blog rules of working within a niche and am doing what I’ve always done: creating a space for my stuff in the world. If you dig it, awesome. If not, that’s cool too.
